The department of internal medicine and clinical immunology, located in the hospital group of Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, is an expert center specialized in the management of rare autoimmune diseases, systemic vasculitis and autoinflammatory pathologies. Its activity revolves around three axes:

• Diagnostic and therapeutic management of rare immunological diseases by a specialized medical and paramedical team
• A state-of-the-art clinical research activity with numerous therapeutic trials
• Basic research at the laboratory in the development of new therapeutic targets

It includes 66 traditional hospital beds, 22 week hospital beds and 11 day hospital beds. We provide more than 300 consultations per month.

The department is labeled European expert center in the field of autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases, national reference center for rare systemic autoimmune diseases, national reference center for autoinflammatory diseases and inflammatory amyloidosis. The department also has a particular expertise in the field of immunopathology and biotherapies, as evidenced by its accreditation in Department Hospital-Immunopathology, Inflammation, Biotherapy (DHU I2B), and a RHU iMAP that aims to support the development of interleukin-2 low dose, a promising biotherapy for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
